1.
Portugalio 03:04
5.
Grekio 04:40
6.
Hungario 03:01
8.
The possibility to traverse, The possibility to traverse the sea to be free. Friendship, I am you, you are me The possibility to traverse.

about

Eŭropo: sen limoj is an album in 8 languages with lyrics written by 8 women on the theme Europe and recorded at Guscio Recording Studio, Milan. The album wants to paint a picture of contemporary Europe from 8 women’s prospective. This is a human journey without borders that aims to bring the listener on a path through positive and negative emotions to reach hope, understanding and connection.

Eŭropo: sen limoj was conceived in Brexit Britain, where Maddalena Ghezzi (voice) lives. An immigrant and a daughter of the open borders Europe that allowed her to build her life in another country, her concerned for her future and her increasing discomfort in her surroundings led her to develop this project. She gathered women that had experienced the freedom that comes with movement, to contribute their words.

The lyrics create a dynamic female led narrative of Europe as a continent, evoking Europa's female spirit, and exposing contemporary feelings of melancholy, unsettlement and strong human connections. FUWAH took at heart to write an eclectic, different and various musical journey to these lyrics. Together we created Eŭropo: sen limoj (Europe with no limits/borders). Both the title and the tracks’ names are in Esperanto and they have been ordered according to an hypothetical physical journey from Portugalio to Unuiĝinta Reĝlando through Hispanio, Francio, Italio, Grekio, Hungario and Germanio.

The music was composed starting from a riff and developed it in various shapes and forms, changing metre, style and more. The riff links the tracks creating a common narrative and highlights how diversity can coexist.

Fuwah are a group pf musicians who are rooted in an experimental jazz tradition, who challenge each other often using improvisation as a device for writing. The band started as a duo double bass and voice and produced two releases FUWAH and FUWAH songs, and then developed in this current formation. The nature of the instruments included in the band give us a raw sound and allow us to research and stretch our own instruments and voices.
